Its strange how TTG maps are created.
Travelling down to London with a friend, he was suprised that the M6 toll is seen correctly by TTG, considering it was completed in Dec. 2003. However, once in London, we came to a certain part of the dual carriage on the A406. TTG audio the instruction to take the 3rd exit at the roundabout. At that point my friend burst out laughing. It appears that roundabout and section of that area had been changed some 6 years ago. Same again for the one way section outside Camdem Town, that has been like that for the past 8+ years, yet TTG still gives you instructions to travel the wrong way. |

As with most humans, and most human created objects, there will always be imperfections.
The machine is only as good as the information fed into it. (You are what you eat!!)
As has been pointed out on other threads along this line, because of errors and the time scale of information updating, there will always be problems of this nature.
The onus is on the driver to use the Navigator as an aid, but tempered with the rules of the road. TTG will get you there in the end, albeit in its own way.
We can all look forward to the next map update (or prehaps not)!

I would hope that the maps improve quickly now that TTG is out in the open and people are reporting mapping errors. |

Believe it or not, TomTom GO is not the only GPS Navigation system! The arrival of GO is unlikely to have a huge impact on the data gatherers _________________ Darren Griffin |

I agree, but the TTG maps appear to be older than the latest ones elsewhere and in a different format. So I assumed there was a problem in transferring them across and that TTG was starting again from a new (older) base map. |
