I am a very new user to TOMTOM and IPAC.

I am trying to load checkpoint and I am confused about the "Button for adding a POI". Apart from that I think Checkpoint is installed ok.

I am also trying to add POI "Safety Camera".

I cannot find the files stated inthe instruction "POCKETGPS_UK_SC.OV2 and POCKETGPS_UK_SC.BMP".

I have read advise off this web site and only selected a number of the files. However it stated that there is not enough space on the SD Card. Should I be installing them there or on the device its self.

If on the device what is the location.

Once loaded please can you tell me how to activate in TOMTOM.

Apologies for all the questions any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks
Quentin

Hi Quentin,

Welcome to the forum! Thumbs Up

If you go to:

You’ll see at the top of the page, the following message about the update:

PocketGPSWorld camera database page wrote:
NOTE TO EXISTING USERS
We have just released a new version of the PocketGPSWorld.com Safety Camera Database. There's a slight difference (and it wont work straight out of the box, so take note!). The subtle difference is - that it has now been split into three files. Namely:-
PocketGPS_UK_GATSO.ov2
PocketGPS_UK_REDLIGHT.ov2
PocketGPS_UK_SPECS.ov2
PocketGPS_CONTINENTAL.ov2
PocketGPS_UK_MOBILE.ov2
Please note that this means you will have to disable the old POI in TomTom Navigator 1 / 2 / 3 and your POI Notification software and re-add the new ones.

In the title of your post, you say that you have an iPAQ 1710. Do you have the HP TomTom Navigation bundle? If you do then neither CheckPOInt nor any other add-on third party software will work with it. You will need to set up the built-in Proximity Alert feature.

Regards,
