Used my new Navman for a couple of long journeys this last week and I have noticed an annoying problem.
When driving I leave in on the mapping display, so in the bar at the top of the display you have information on your next turn, distance to it, and it displays the road name (e.g A49 etc.) of the next road you are turning into...
Problem is on several roundabout-type and bear-left/right next turn situations I have noticed that the although the instruction (e.g take 2nd exit..) is correct, the road name (e.g A49) is not always correct. This seems to happen about a third of the time.
For example I was travelling up the A51 from Nantwich, up towards a roundabout where I needed the 1st exit onto the A55 into North Wales. The unit shows the next turn to be the 1st exit at the next roundabout, and correctly displays distance to turn, but the road description was for A49 NOT A55. After travelling down the road the device correctly displays the road I am on on the lower bar on the screen.
Due to this sort of problem I have come a little unstuck a few times and taken the wrong exit. Is this a known problem ?
I have put SP1 onto the unit and after noticing this problem limited the maps to the areas I am travelling and reset the unit a couple of times, but the same problems kept occuring.
I am using the 510 in the USA. I have noticed what I think is a similar issue. When driving on the freeway, it will tell me to exit on to a street. The 510 will list the actual street I will be on once off the off-ramp. However, the exit will have a different name, since it is naming the major cross street. So I have found, in fact, that the 510 is actually correct in the street I will exit onto, even the the city chose to name the exit something different.
I don't know if that is what your are encountering. If not, good luck!
