All,

I don't know whether I'm a lone voice in this but as someone looking to purchase a suitable PDA & navigation set-up, I think a new forum or section is required.

From my own perspective, I'm split between Co Pilot & Tom-Tom but one of the key things that I cannot get a short answer to is the ability to adapt the software to reflect my own driving style, to inform me of the places that I'm interested in, to create these very lists, how you go about importing them into the PDA and whether there is an easy way to do it.

There is a stickie in the Copilot Live forum detailing how to go about altering the default speeds and offers really excellent advice that can help the advanced user configure their software to reflect their driving style. But, it contains some fairly jargony stuff re. converting from Hex to Decimal.

Bit on the technical side, but it accurately reflects the type of feature that I and possibly many are interested in.

I would like to ask the pocketgps staff whether it is possible for a new section that can capture the "how to's", detailing the steps to take to make full use of the facilities offered by differing software. I know that there is a risk of "RTFM", but many people have found work-arounds that are quicker than what's in the manual.

For example, what is the easiest way for someone to detail how to create a list of POI's and then import them into Co-Pilot.

If my inexperience of using the forums has caused me to post a dud - apologies to all, but I'm sure that many of you may agree with me and would welcome a particular area that details these kind of things.

All thoughts welcome...

S

We have already started creating some FAQ's in the relevant forums which are sticky messages, this will be populated throughout the forums in the future. Creating another forum just for FAQ's for each forum would be an overkill, and creating just one FAQ forum would mean that you probably still wouldn't find the FAQ's, so watch out for the stickies in the relevant software/hardware forum.
