Fortuna Clip on losing is fix??

I had noticed a while back that the Fortuna Clip ons were getting some bad press due to them losing their fix on the satellites. The suggested method to cure this was to remove the battery from the clip on for at least a day and then all would be well.

I can't find if this has been resolved yet. Does anyone know?

I'm hopefully about to purchase a clip on but would hate to think when I needed GPS the most that I would have to remove the battery for up to 24hours!!
