|
|
I have active sync 3.7.1 installed on my PC. Which is running windows XP pro. When i connect the phone to the computer, the little green disc has it little spinning action. Then i get "Your device is not connected".
If i click on get connected it goes to the looking for devices & then just shows "Your device is not connected again".
Surely it knows the phone has been connected, as it starts the little green thing spinning when i first connect it?
Any idea's greatly appreciated.

What make and model of phone is it ?
Have you looked at the ActiveSync menu on your phone to check that its set correctly.

it's a SVP C500, I had the same prob's with the medion PDA that i used to have. When plug it in. The little green thing would light up and spin for a few seconds & then go out again. I have just checked the settings in active sync.
All buttons are checked? |

Uncheck everything but USB (assuming you connect via USB), and then reboot your PC.
You may also want to delete existing ActiveSync partnerships, and then establish a new one with the phone.

I had 3.8 downloaded from MS at first. uninstalled that ver, as i saw some posts saying that 3.7.1 was a better ver. I had just the same prob's with that one thou.
today i tried disabling windows firewall, rebooting and still the same.
I uninstalled active sync, deleted in device manager, re-installed and re-set up. No joy.
The only thing i can think of, is when click on get connected and the status window opens to say your device was not detected. The com port 2 says unavailable. Could that be the port my USB cable is connected to. As when searching for device it searches com 1 & 3, ir, & usb. But not com 2.
I know it's not the cable, as i connected it straight away on my friends machine this afternoon. He's running the same OS as me?

Hello RS2000
Take it that's the Ford version (RS2000 - nice motor, i had a RS1600 along time ago).
When you re-installed ActiveSync, did you have your phone connected to the UBS lead, because this could cause it not to install correctly, i am just trying to find any problem, cannot understand this any more than you.
Regards

Thanks very much.
(It is the Ford version. 1988 model, ALL original, immaculate condition. 22000 miles with all MOT's and full ford service history. Costs me £22 a month in gas to keep the garage warm where i store it. ...)
