|

On recommend from this forum I downloaded the UK Postcode add-on from http://www.digitools.co.uk/ukpostcode.php and printed out the installation instructions.
Now they say quite clearly that there is no installer and everything has to be done through Explorer. I'm just about confident enough to do that so downloaded the program, which comes as a zip file.
Problem 1: Unzipping the program starts a very efficient installation program. Has the software been updated, but the instructions not kept pace?
Problem 2: I decided to try the installation, but it quite quickly threw up an error message telling me that "PalmtopBVTTNControl" was already installed, and did I want to proceed?
I suggest that "PalmtopBVTTNControl" might have been installed by my TrafCam add on.
Should I just proceed with the installation? I really would rather not be in a situation of having to unpick everything and start loading TrafCam and Navigator from scratch.

If you appear already to have the TTNControl installed (as may well be the case if you use Trafcam), just copy the .exe and .dat files into the same folder somewhere on your Pocket PC (a storage card is usual), and run the .exe file. Does the software work then?

Brilliant, sorted. :D
Seems to work just fine. If it is as good as it looks to be on a couple of quick tests I'll be sending a payment pronto.
Super bit of software, transforms the rather clunky Navigator searching function.
Many, many thanks.

It is without a doubt one of the best if not the best plug-in for TomTom. Niels did a superb job with this and it just works, no ifs and no buts, the only problems are when the Post Code is not in the database and that is not his fault!
I would happily have paid for it and I know he would welcome any contribution _________________ Darren Griffin |
