I've been trying to install Navigator 3.07 with wired GPS receiver onto an h6340 with no joy so far. Software installs OK but the GPS receiver just won't enable. Options in the drop down config box for GPS are COM1, COM8 and Serial Port on COM2 but it ignores all of them.
I've ensured that the built in keyboard is disabled but no joy.

The other strange thing is that I've never been asked to authorise the install on this device, despite several hard resets.

Any advice on what to try next would be most appreciated

Chris

This is an easy one. The 6340 doesn't have a serial port, hence your serial receiver is pretty much useless. You need to go for a BT receiver if you want to do navigation with the 6340.

Lutz,
Thank you, you have saved me hours of head scratching. I never gave it a thought that the device might not actually have a serial port!

Fantastic forum - many thanks

Hi

I'm looking to purchase an i6340 with TomTom3, does the info in this topic mean that a wired solution is not possible & therefore I must go for the bluetooth kit?

Thanks and apologies if this is a silly question.

Gary

yes, you need a BT receiver. The SD slot is needed for the maps.
