What you need is not pairing. Your Toshiba needs to discover the available services of the GPS, and then connect to the "Serial Port Profile" service of the receiver. Can you do that?
(Pairing is not required, but it also doesn't hurt) _________________ Lutz

The Toshiba discovers the Pharos unit... but that is as far as it will go... it does not connect to the GPS unit.
I have tried using GPSgate... and it got me a little further... I was able to get connected... but the symbol for GPSgate stayed Red... so I am assuming no signal.
I was able to connect with my Hp2210... so this has to be an issue with the Toshiba e830... and the BT stack... I am open to any suggestions... |

You may have to explicitly enable the outgoing COM port for the BT. Do you see any place in the BT settings for that port? _________________ Lutz

On the Toshiba there is nothing that allows you to configure any settings... that is part of my problem. I just came here to see if anyone had solved the problem. |

Does the GPS has any passkey?
And have you gone throught that process (entering passkey) in the Toshiba? _________________ Pc-Mobile

Yes... i entered the Passkey... like i said I was hoping to come across someone with the same setup that may have come up with a solution. I did not think I could be the only person that is using a Pharos and e830.
Thanks for your time. |
