POI lists availability its rubbish!!!!

I have recently got a sat nav system and wanted to down load lists such as hotels and petrol stations, banks etc. What do I find? just about the only lists available are on POIhandler and they are so incomplete as to be useless. Have I overlooked an obvious site? has my internet search failed me? or is that really the best thats available? Sad

Yes, you have overlooked one site - what about this one? ;-)

This site has a very good list of POI's available for download. Have a look at the Points Of Interest link on the menu on the left hand side of the page.

Also, if you still cannot find what you are looking for, you could have a go at creating your own POI. Have a look at my Sticky Guide in the POI-Sync forum. Also in this forum you will find the link to a user-created website which can create a POI file for you in minutes - see the post entitled 'POI types for all businesses.'
