maps on memory cards can't or very slow loading

Hi;
I've been using my Hp ipaq5550 with TomTom navigator 2 and navman 3450 jacket for quite a few months now everything work find in the begining,when I only install a small 16mb map onto the PDA's main memory, But recently I bought myself a 1gb sd card for storing the maps for the UK and other data,and when I installed further Maps ie the full UK map or larger 64mb maps onto the sd card the TomTom had fail to run or load very very slow ie taking nearly and hour to load.
also when I tried to just install maps onto the sd card only and not onto the pda at all, TomTom navigator fail to recognise that a map had been installed and won't start at all.
please please help

Please post the brand, size and any markings from the back of the SD card. There are some types out there that don't work properly in Pocket PCs - which I can probably recognise from that information.


The issue of saying there's no maps installed - do you have TomTom Wizard installed or not, and where are the maps on the SD card (for example, I could say \SD Card\Great_Britain Navigator Map for my setup - or Great_Britain Navigator Map in the root directory of the SD card, which is the same thing).
