Maps for spain and the uk

Im on the verge of buying my first pda which i will use for two major functions, one for GPs/satnav and the other to use in conjuction with a barcode reader and i have two questions id like advice on.

1/What gps software package is the best to for use in both spain and the Uk?.

2/can i use a barcode raeader with any pda, and if not which one would you recomend.

There's no such thing as the "best" GPS software - there's many options, all of which have strengths and weaknesses. You don't even say whether you're looking for vehicle navigation or topographic (Ordnance Survey or similar) mapping.

For barcode support, you could check out Socket Communications. They have various Pocket PC bar code products. Many of their products are built into a CompactFlash card, so you potentially want a Pocket PC with a CompactFlash slot.
