Hi
Hope someone can Help . Apologies in advance if this is a stupid question , I'm new to using a PDA !!
I have just purchased a SysOn CF Memory GPS card from yourselves (256mb) to use with my Toshiba E800 - having read the great review you gave it.
I have the TomTom 3 software currently loaded onto a 256mb SD card in the PDA and I have just come to install the driver(s) from the CD that came with the SysOn CF card but I keep getting the following message come up on the E800 screen ....
"\\windows\sdmmcdsk.dll" is in use or is in Rom. If the file is not in Rom , please close the application using it .
I don't understand what this means ?? I haven't got the PDA running anything else at the time - just the ActiveSync
I have searched the PDA explorer for this file and its come up with nothing !
Can you advise please , so I can get sorted and start enjoying the Sat Nav !
Cheers |

Does it work without installing any drivers? Most CompactFlash GPSes don't need drivers on a Pocket PC, but this one may be different with it being a CompactFlash GPS plus memory card.

Thats for your quick response
No I dont seem to be able get it to work without installing drivers.
The PDA does show now 3 options in the drop down , under the memory in settings...
Flash Rom disk
SD card
Mounted volume
but each time I try the install and get the message as mentioned ; clear this message and it tells me that the CF card drivers installation was not sucessfull
As I say really dont know what to try now ?? so any ideas or advise would be most apprreciated.
Thanks for your help |

On further checking you do need the drivers.
My suggestion is to remove both the GPS card and your SD card, soft reset, and try to uninstall the drivers, then soft reset, then try to reinstall them. Only then replace your SD card.
Does that help?

Appreciate your help , but I'm not there yet I'm afraid !!!
Your procedure has allowed me to re-install the required drivers HOWEVER now after it has installed I am getting the following message :
The program you have installed may not display properly because it was designed for a previous version of windows mobile software .
This despite the fact that the PDA is definately running windows mobile 2003 Second Edition and the details that come with the SysOn Cf card clearly say it works with Windows mobile 2003 !!
Just seem to be going round in circles getting increasingly frustrated and still unable to progess using the CF card and get the Sat Nav as I purchased it for .
Any further advise or help would be very much appreciated
Thanks

If you see that error at any time, just press OK. It's almost invariably an unhelpful message no matter what software you're installing.
