Hi All,
I've recently purchased a GPS receiver for use with my Toshiba E335 pocket pc. I've installed the driver which came with the receiver, but alot of the time I cant get the PDA to pickup the receiver.
I've installed winfast navigator which says it cant connect to com1. If I remove the drivers and re-install then sometimes I can get the GPS to work ok. other times I cant, and have to uninstall the driver again.
I believe the the driver I'm using is proliant PL-203 or similiar.
Can anyone help as 9 times out of 10 I cant get gps working |

I have read that toshibas use port 9, but according to my pda com 9 is the ir port.
Can someone confirm if I should be using com1 or the serial port? |

You cannot uninstall the driver without using a registry editor.
So the original driver is there all the time.
It should be com 1 or 2.
But the driver should not be the problem. You should look somewhere else for the problem particularly the GPS. _________________ Pc-Mobile

I believe its a problem with the driver myself, because someones after I've installed the driver and run 'test' (which is supposed to tell me which port to use) it says ' Device not found. The GPS doesnt need to be plugged in for it to tell me what port to use |

Did you use the driver supplied with the GPS?
If you did then there should be no problem with the driver. _________________ Pc-Mobile
