Have got IPAQ 2210/GPSMART BT.
Works great with TomTom.
Currently trying memory map because I want to use aerial images.
Cannot get a connection. Settings are NMEA,NMEA083, Com8 BT 4800.

4800 is probably wrong - 38400 is more likely for a Bluetooth GPS.
As Lutz says, many versions of TomTom GPS install a patch to the Bluetooth stack on many iPAQs. That said, the latest version of TomTom GPS, 3.07, did not patch the Bluetooth stack on my iPAQ hx4700 - so it may be that on machines with the latest Broadcom (previously Widcomm) Bluetooth stack, TomTom have stopped installing a patch, maybe because there's a facility built in to the Bluetooth stack to to disable the Bluetooth browser.
If your TomTom GPS version number is 2.08 and higher, you may find the problem is solved if you turn off Bluetooth, soft reset, go to Start Menu, Settings, System tab, Remove Programs, tap on TomTom ~ GPS and tap Remove. Accept the mandatory soft reset by tapping on OK.
If you had a version of TomTom GPS that installed a Bluetooth patch, you will find that that just removed the patch (you have to go through the removal process again to remove the TomTom GPS program). If you've successfully removed the patch, you should then be able to use your GPS in other software. You may have another issue then with the Bluetooth browser coming up - but we can advise you further on that.
If you've just lost TomTom GPS through this uninstall attempt, you'll have to reinstall it. If you still have a problem, uninstall the freshly installed copy of TomTom GPS once.
