Hi

I sent an e-mail to Tom Tom Tech support asking if the Mio 186 PDA is compatible with the 1C90.060 TomTom Nav 3 S/W for UK. the reply i got was as follows:

Dear Mr Williams,

This part number refers to TomTom Navigator S/W for Great Britain, your Mitac Mio is not compatible with any of our products, you can see our full compatibility list on our website.

We hope to have answered your question to your satisfaction.
With best regards,

The TomTom Customer Support Team

Can anyone clear this up once and for all for me???? People on this forum say it is compatible, but the makers of TomTom say otherwise!

I need a full and detailed reply as to how it is compatible (hopefully is)

Cheers
Michael

TomTom just haven't fully tested it themselves, so therefore it's safer for them to say it isn't compatible.

I've tried it myself and it ran quite happily.

Yep, just install software, activate and away you go.

Although you do have to change the GPS settings. The correct one is "Serial on SP2"

I'll help anyway I can.

I set the same question to Tom Tom earlier in the week, and received virtually the same reply. Based on comments from friends and a helpful responce in this forum I placed my order for my Mio 168 today (It's due to arrive monday) !

I do have a quick question related to Navigator 3 - as I travel a fair amount in my work my company have agreed to pay for the Benelux maps & licence. I also want the UK maps (but will have to pay for this myself) - whats the cheepest way of doing this? is there just a UK map disk I can purchase - minus the licence? can I use the Benelux licence for the Navigator 3 software to run the UK maps? - just wanted to know whats the cheepest way of getting both working?

Thanks

If you already have a single country version of Navigator 3, the best thing is to buy the Navigator 3 Maps of Western Europe product. That's an add-on; you need an activated copy of Navigator 3 to use it, but it sounds like you've already got that on its way. The only other alternative would be to buy Navigator 3 Great Britain, but that would duplicate things you already have and cost around the same.

If you happened to get hold of a UK map disk, you wouldn't be able to activate those maps; your activation code for Navigator 3 Benelux will only activate Benelux maps.
