New to GPS!

Hello,

I have bought myself an early Christmas Present! It's a Hewlett Packard iPAQ 1710 with TomTom GPS and mapping software/maps. The car kit doesn't stick anywhere so I have to hook it over one of the air vents!
Excellent system, I was trying it out all afternoon, very easy to use and so accurate.

Being new to all this I have read about points of interest and will be attempting to put the speed cameras on - when I work out what goes where. My UK map was supplied on a small card - can this be copied or backed up onto my main computer? I was going to buy another card and copy the data from the original, then put the camera database in. It's incase I break the original!
So I am hoping the new card will have everything ready to use.

Is this as easy as it sounds? What sort of data card do I need for the above PC and what size should it be?

It's called a SD (Secure Digital) card, and you should get one as big as you can afford - 512 MB or 1 GB. What you also need is a card reader for your PC.
