PDA with GPS connections

First post for me so go gentle.

One way or another - not through choice exactly - I have a Meridian Colour GPS and a XDA 2 PDA. I also have Memory Map on the PC.

I can add the MM files to the PDA (will need a bigger SD card!!) but I want to use the GPS capabilities of the GPS to use the best from the MM files on the PDA.

I have found cables that can connect the GPS to the PDA but I also want to provide power (car) to both the GPS and the PDA - I don't want to rely on battery power.

Does anyone have any such cable solution?

Are there other (cheapish) solutions to provide the PDA with GPS use?
