Ok I've got an IPAQ 4150 and a Fortuna Clip-on with TT 3. All works absolutely fine but I was wondering whether I should be using NMEA 0183v2 38400 or SiRF 38400? Is there any difference?

I can connect and get a signal using both and TT seems to run fine but there is always the little plug with the red circle with a cross through it flashing in the bottom left hand corner of the map. Like I said TT works fine, there doesn't seem to be any routing issues, I get a lock on lots of satellites. just wondering why this thing constantly flashes up or should I just ignore it?

Thanks.

BP

If you can contain yourself then do not try to run the receiver at SiRF 38400. I say it like this because we did already have plenty of users that were told not to mess with the SiRF protocol but then thought "Alright, if that guy wants me to stay away from it then it must be something cool that I have to try no matter what"

There is no benefit from running any receiver at SiRF protocol.

The blinking plug indicates that your Pocket PC is not connected to a power source. You can switch the indication on/off in the Preferences (File > Properties > Advanced > Show 'no-power' indicator)

Thanks for the info, I was trying to think logically and because the receiver uses an SiRF chipset I thought using the SiRF protocol would be the way to go....obviously not.

Thanks for letting me know what that icon was for, couldn't find it in the manual at all, maybe I missed it.

:D
