Fist time Gps Buyer Advice on choice

Hi all

I am thinking of purchasing my first gps set-up I have read alot and have come to these 2 options.

I have a laptop for work and a palm Tungsten T of my own i would like the hardware to work on both

The first choice is

Garmin eTrex

GPS to PDA Connection Cable with Power adapter

PC Interface Cable

InfoMap Navigator 4 (voice) Europe

Serial to USB convertor

Universal Laptop Car Charger



2nd choice

Sapphire GPS PDA receiver

Connection cables for USB port

InfoMap Navigator 4 (voice) Europe

Universal Laptop Car Charger

Both these systems will work on my hardware and i dont know if i will use the etrex on its own but i might do as we are very kenn campers.

The concern i have is am i compromising reliability wanting to cover all my bases.

Most of the time it will be used in the car
