Hi
I just got my G2500 for iPAQ 5500. When I connect my TomTom Bluetooth GPS via the RJ11 cable that came with the TomTom receiver I get a whining from the receiver. It seems to be interference as it changes with what’s on the display of the iPAQ. It also pulses with the Satellite LED. It stops when the iPAQ is off. I don’t mind the sound I’m just a little concerned that the G2500 might be sending out too much power to TomTom receiver.
Another problem I have is a poor potentiometer. The unit crackles when I change the volume.
Any thoughts? |

Just got mine. I have a loud hiss on mine. Its hard to hear when driving but thats not the point, it shouldn't be there and means there is poor quality in the circuitry and reflects badly on the rest of it. Its poor electronics, very poor for £45. I to have the blip from the BT signal but is quite quiet on mine. Having said that I am sending it back to GlobalPositioning Systems who have an excellant no quibble returns policy. I will have to think again but if you read my rant in the Beginners Forum you can see I'm not best impressed by this, accessories, side of the industry. Overpriced, poorly supported and frankly, a rip off |

Gents,
Send an email to Seidio Technical. This is a common fault on some of their earlier stocks. Since that time they have changed some of the speaker and transistor elements.
I complained about my unit for the Toshiba e800 and they exchanged it for a new unit which is absolutely great.
Please note, they are sometimes very slow in responding, I have waited a week before receiving a response. |

Sent a mail yesterday asking for advice and explaining I had returned a GS2500 to Global positioning Systems becuase of the hissing and interference and got a reply within hours from Seidio suggesting I buy from their web site.
This infers that their stock is OK. I sent a mail to Global and they are not aware of any quality issues and thought my return was a fault.
Top marks to Seidio for a quick response. It concerns me that its a bit like Russian roulette wheter you get a good one or not from official suppliers as seems the case |
