Fatal Error in MapSonic 1.32

Hi,

I recently bought a Mio 168 PocketPC + ViaMichelin Navigation Europe package. It uses MapSonic version 1.32 and almost everytime when I want to calculate a route I get the following error:

"The following unrecoverable error occcured: the application has detected that the map file has been altered or currupted. Please reinstall it."

I already tried different things... remake a map, copy it to PDA (I use a SD card) copy it using a card-reader ... but the problem keeps occuring ... it's very annoying and I can't use it like this.... Does anybody have any advice please?

(wild guess) You may live in an area where a surveying error is corrupting the map structure. Can you try to open a map of a completely different area?

I have never seen this error, although Mapsonic is responsible for a lot of crashes of my Tungsten T3, some of them requiring a hard reset. I now am trying to discipline myself always to doing a backup to SD card before I fire up Mapsonic. The most frequent crash time for me is when starting or quitting Mapsonic. I'm sorry I can't help. If you haven't emailed ViaMichelin you should try that, because when I had a repeatable problem of Mapsonic crashing every time it started Bluetooth they told me the fix.
