What do I put in for a proxy server address? I do not have a proxy server in my home LAN. When I set the system on use IE setting it insists that I have a proxy server. It is my CA firewall?

Check IE to see if proxy info is present (some adblocking software works by acting as a proxy).

Can you not tell POI-Sync to not use a proxy (assuming you do not have one)

No proxy shown in the IE connections options.

I am running Computer Associates Firewall and Anti-Virus software plus I use Maxthon which is an overlay for IE 6.0

When I select no proxy for POIEdit, it tells me that I have to configure my proxy server and switches me from auto to manual configuration.

Thanks for the reply.

In that case there's a problem with your firewall connection.

Your proxy should be set to allow all traffic on port 80 and 8080. Once this is done and you setup no proxy support in IE or in NETWORKING you should then be able to dock your PPC and use Pocket IE to go out through your firewall when docked and use the internet from your PPC.

If you can, then fire up POIEdit and select USE IE Settings and it WILL work.

If you can't browse your the internet from your PPC then you've got config issues with your firewall, probably that you don't have a default gateway set (or your PC isn't picking up a default gateway of your firewall).

Dave,
I can browse the Internet on my Pocket PC with my Pocket PC docked just fine.

I have disabled my firewall (temporarily).

I have added port 80 and 8080 as pass throughs (port forwarding) on my Linksys (Cisco) router.

No joy.

Dave,
I just read that I can not use the POIEdit system with the TomTomGo. So might as well drop this thread. Bummer, as this was the neatest idea I had ever seem for a nav system.
