I have just returned my TT 3 BT to globalpositioningsystems after only 5 days as there appeared to be no output from the GPS receiver. I have asked for a replacement but I am concerned about reliability now. The unit worked fine for 5 days although at times there was no signal to the PC although it would always pair OK. I suppose what I really want to know is is this a common fault or am I just unlucky should I change to a wired GPS or continue with the BT?

There is a long thread here regarding the reliability of various Bluetooth receivers, including TomTom, but the later TomTom units with updated firmware were more supposed to be more reliable.

I had a challenge with my TT bluetooth receiver the other day. I ran the battery down until the red light came on, then plugged it into the car kit supplied with the TTN4 palm version (hard wired to the car). It found my position on the palm T3 and worked for a few miles, then it stopped updating. I could not turn off the receiver. It was fine when I had let the battery run down and shut it's self off, and then recharged it. No problems since then.
