Hi all

Just wondering if anyone had any news on when there will be another update for Tomtom navigator. With GO having the maps with the 'new' M6 Toll road, I really could do with an update for Nav 3. I'm now having to work a lot around this area, with the current versions lack of info regarding the toll road this is causiing me serious headaches!

Cheers

Richard

We can only go on history - which is that TomTom release a new version of Navigator every year, in around April. Navigator 3 isn't that old - it only launched around April this year (so about five months ago). Unfortunately it was based on the last TeleAtlas map release that didn't include M6 Toll (unlike Go and, I think, Navigator for Palm OS).

Maybe they'll move to more frequent releases in the future. About the only hint that they may be moving on towards a new version is that unless I'm misremembering, they've shelved the launch of Navigator 3 USA and will not release a new USA version of Navigator for the Pocket PC until they've migrated Navigator for the Pocket PC to their new common code platform (on which Navigator for Palm OS and Go are based).

I do have some contact with TomTom, but no inside knowledge. If anyone does, they will almost certainly be prohibited from talking about it publicly at this stage.
