Tomtom giving better recption than Fortuna?

I've just got my Tomtom unit back from Tomtom.
I was having a few problems and they took it back to fix.

I've tested it out on my iPaq and I'm getting amazing reception.
Indoors I'm getting 8 satelites.

My Fortuna in Xtrac mode won't even get a full hook... it won't even get more than one or two grey bars in the same position.

Outside, the Fortuna is fine on my dashboard. It's NOT fine anywhere else.

I thought because the Fortuna had Xtrac... it should have better reception?

Is the Tomtom Xtrac as well?
If so... why does it not suffer the previous lag problems?

But regardless... I don't see why there should be such a BIG difference in reception??

Any feedback to the above would be appreciated.

you are not alone, my Tomtom unit gives amazing reception indoors whist the navman barely has 1 or 2 sats
