No codes or activation required?

I've managed to install my Tomtom software on another iPaq.
But, at no point was I asked to activate anything?
What I did was I installed the update.
Tried running it. It didn't work.
I then uninstalled and installed the software from the original CD.
(I later found out this is what you're supposed to do first.)
It didn't ask me for codes or activation or anything?
I've now managed to install the update as well and everything is working fine.
I was just wondering why I hadn't been asked for any codes or activation?

(You can actually use their software on TWO PDA's! I was told in this group by someone. I then even emailed Tomtom, and replied back saying yes. The only catch is that you can only install onthe second PDA after 7 days. You can also install on a third PDA after another 6 months. And then another 6 months later and so on.)

I think you may find that it registers the product in the background. If you go to TomTom Activation site and check, you may find that you cannot use on another PDA for 6 months.
