I have recently bought IPAQ 3970 to use with a navman jacket and posibly TT2. My problem is that no signal seems to get through to the IPAQ, I have tried winfast, this also shows no signal. My 3850 works perfectly. Winfast does show that the com 5 port is designated slightly different on each Ipaq. Could this be the problem _________________ Clive |

If it's any help my Navman sleeve shows up as 0100 COM4:, so look for a 0100 before the COM port name. I'm not sure what is tied to your COM4, I can tell you it won't be COM1, 2, 3, 4, 6 it might be COM5, 7 or 8. |

I have this sneaky suspicion that one of those com ports is taking up more space than it should, and knocking COM6 out and without this, you seemed to be pretty loaded up with COM ports already in use, so I'm not sure if the Navman sleeve will be able to get a COM port free.
If there's anyone else here reading this who has a 3970 and a Navman sleeve, what COM port does your sleeve use ? |

Different iPAQ/Navman configurations will use different COM ports. The Navman jackets looks for the first available COM port. _________________ Who's Your Daddy? |

My 3970 uses Port 6 too. You should have bluetooth disabled in Bluetooth manager otherwise you will experience problems. I use this every day and it works fine. |

Clive, another thing to check is that you actually have the Navman driver installed which you can get from Navman direct (not TomTom). If you don't have this driver installed you won't be able to see the sleeve. This comes standard with SmartST Pro. |

Thanks for the info, finally found the driver on the Navman site. System now works fine. I assumed that when you clicked on Ipaq jacket in TT2 it then loaded the drivers, obviously not. _________________ Clive |

It used to do just that in TTNav1 but they dropped driver support for the Navman Jacket in TTNav2 for whatever reason if you upgraded to TTNav2 then the driver was carried over but so if you re-install from clean you'll need to load the driver available on the Navman site. _________________ Darren Griffin |
