|
|
Hi there,
Have used TT3 for a while with no snags and have recently purchased Memory Map O/S software and am having snags setting up the GPS..
have established that my reciever is SIRF and Port 5 seems to be my BT receiver yet not sure about Baud or Debug selections as keep getting timeout messages...
Any help would be much appreciated !!
Cheers

The receiver has a SiRF chipset but is most probably talking NMEA. Since it's a BT receiver the most probable speed is 38400
Note that some versions of the TomTom GPS driver (post 2.07 and pre 3.03) are blocking the BT receiver from being used by other programs.
If you want to be on the safe side, replace your existing TomTom GpS driver with version 2.07 from our downloads page. _________________ Lutz

Hi again,
Still stuck i'm afraid..
I Downloaded v2.07 as i was running v2.09 and the only slight snag on installation was- windows\ttbtdev.dll is in use or in rom, please close even after a soft reset this message was still coming up so i skipped that file and it looks as though the installation has been successful as on the TomTom GPS page i've got v2.07 288/365 showing, but now on the GPS Status page it doesn't look as though the satellites are being received and i've chopped between Com5 and Com8 and still no joy, also tried NMEA with BT Baud rate set within Memory Map.. any ideas ??
Many thanks

you have not uninstalled version 2.09 properly. Do the uninstall dance again, and make sure TomTOm GPS is really gone before you try to install 2.07. Do soft resets after each step. _________________ Lutz

:P At last !!
Thanks for the help.. this time i did a full uninstall of TT GPS, not just an overwrite. Also another problem i encountered was that Memory Map software is unable to configure the GPS unit if you've got another GPS program running like TomTom, which i had in the background to confirm i had some satellite signals!!
Again thanks for the help Lutz, i'm off to find a rugged case for my 2210 and then off to get myself lost somewhere !!
Cheers
