Hi
I've wondering if anyone else is getting the same problems as myself:
HP iPAQ 4150 (with latest 1.10 ROM)
Fortuna Clip-On Bluetooth GPS
TomTom 3.03
Sandisk 256MB Card.
On almost every journey I make, there will be a point where the navigation stops working correctly. This is noticable due to the main numeric display suddenly showing current speed as the main figure, instead of distance to next turn. The map display also freezes.
Upon tapping the screen, the route summary pops up, and then eventually returns to the map (still frozen). All menus still work - but I need to exit the program, soft-reset and start all over again for things to continue working. Which is kind of annoying when on the motorway
This never used to happen with my older TomTom 2.24. I've tried 2 different SD cards - but with the same effects.
I did a full reset last week when upgrading the ROM, but still happens.
Does anyone else get these issues?
Thanks

Hi,
Yes they often do if they are using Sandisk SD cards. You don't say what type of other cards you have used, so it's difficult to pin this down totally.
Try a good quality Japanese made card (Panasonic). I have experienced the same problems in the past with various cards but none with a Panasonic. They are a tad more expensive but worth it.

Thanks - I'll try to borrow a different brand off someone for testing.
I've tried 2 Sandisk, and 2 Canon-branded cards. I'm sure someone at work will have one I can borrow.
Strange how TT2 never had the problem though

Newer software always brings increasing demands on the infrastructure on which it runs. Compare Windows XP to Windows 98. XP would never have run smoothly (if at all) on 1998 PC's.
