This case looke the business, large and rubberised perfectly able to tke hard knocks.

But, HP have not designed it properly. In all the literature it states that is compatible with 3xxx, 4xxx, 5xxx, 22xx and 44xx series iPAQs. In reality it is not, if you want to power it from external (car) adapter.

I wnated to use my iPAQ 2210 with c/f GPS card and all looked good. You get a spacer to make the 2210 fit inside and an extension hood that clips on to accomodate the GPS card.

When it comes to plugging in the car power adapter the socket is way out of line with the plug coming through the hole in the base. My objective was to mount the unit on a motorcycle and to aid that I had drilled a couple of holes in the back of the case to fit a RAM Mount but I did that before checking the power connection.

I have spent all day today on and off the phone to HP Support telling them of the problem. Their final words were "It is not compatibl;e with the 22210!" and that was it. Besides it stating on the HP site and on the packaging that it is compatible, apparently this doesn't mean a thing.

The fact that I drilled a couple of small holes in it is also a heinoue offence but if they don't provide anu mounting points what else are you supposed to do?

IOf you are going to buy one of these (£75.00) then do check that the power lead fits in and that you can also push the buttons to unclip it, I feel that would be difficult too.

Apart from that it really is a good piecec of kit with dual layer screen, the inner one is soft and will accept stylus input. It appears to be fairly watertight and robust.

Looks like I'll have to buy the Otterbox 3600 unless I can find a way of enlarging the power plug hole without compromising the security of the Rugged Case.

Nice idea HP poor but implementation and unbelievably appaulling customer services. A big thumbs down!
