No details yet. MobilePlanet who are normally very quick to spill the beans do carry the TomTom Go but no word about version 3 for the Pocket PC. _________________ Lutz

Changes? in 3.0? Hmm... All they have changed is the itinerary mode... I have the 2.34 beta for that if you are interested (same functionality, just not officially released)
No, reading from the tea leaves they will skip version 3 in the US and come out with version 4 (the one already used on the Palm and the GO) _________________ Lutz

For some reason I thought there was more added to 3.0 than that. But perhaps I am confusing 3.0 with 4.0 for Plam/TTGO.
I would love the Beta if it is worthwhile! _________________ Ian |

As I understand it there will not be a V3 for the US market. Instead you will get the V4 Update that will utilise the common engine already deployed in GO and PalmOS versions with Smartphones to follow shortly. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Lutz,
It is interesting that you suggest the US map engine will skip 3 and go straight to 4. I have recently purchased the version 3 upgrade for my GB/EU maps, but I'm unwilling to install them until the US map set is released as a matching version. If this is unlikely to happen, then is there any way of installing both version 2 and 3 at the same time to get over this mismatch of Europe on 3 and the US on 2?
Incidentally, I find TTN2 runs very well when software and maps are installed on a Lexar SD card on my HP 2210. If TTN2 and TTN3 are installed to different SD cards, what are the likely prob ems of just swapping cards to swap versions? Admittedly I could try out these differing scenarios, but I might as well base my energies on your valuable feedback. |

The two version do kinda run side by side (of course not at the same time). The only quirk is that they use the same registry branch, and this results in a "new" start whenever you switch versions. Since you won't be doing that too often (unless you own a Concorde) this is only a minor annoyance
So having them on different SD cards will work just fine. They can share the voices and the GPS driver without problem. _________________ Lutz
