Traffex 2011 returns to NEC Birmingham in March
Article by: Mike Barrett Date: 10 Dec 2010
We often attend consumer related shows and other industry events, but rarely do we get the opportunity to get a look at the infrastructure on our roadsides. Next year between 29 and 31 March at the NEC in Birmingham the Traffex exhibition brings together an international mix of exhibitors and visitors for a three day event featuring traffic management and highway infrastructure.
Traffex is held bi-annually and PocketGPSWorld.com will once again be in attendance (check out our Traffex 2009 report). The Traffex expo apart from other things is where automated traffic management systems are showcased. This does of course include all the Speed Camera manufacturers.
Running alongside the Traffex show is the Parkex Exhibition. Parkex features the leading suppliers of on and off street parking, access control, parking management, software, car park refurbishment, civil enforcement, training and payment processing.
Between the two exhibitions just about all the technology driving our road infrastructure will be on show. Check out the www.traffex.com website for details of exhibitors, tickets etc.
The Traffex press release follows:
Traffex and Parkex take over the NEC Birmingham, 29th – 31st March 2011 Traffex 2011, the leading international trade exhibition for traffic management, road safety and highway maintenance professionals and Parkex 2011, Europe’s largest dedicated parking exhibition organised on behalf of the British Parking Association will take over Hall 4 at the NEC Birmingham from 29th – 31st March 2011. Next year’s event will mark Traffex’s 25th anniversary edition. In 2011, Traffex and Parkex will once again run alongside Street Design; the leading event for urban design in the public realm. The three shows will offer visitors an opportunity to meet over 400 UK and international exhibitors from the transport, parking and street design industries showcasing their latest products and services on the 24,000sqm exhibition floor space. Daily, free-of-charge seminars run by leading industry experts from ITS United Kingdom, the Department for Transport, the Highways Agency, the Chartered Institution of Highways & Transportation and the British Parking Association will be taking place in dedicated theatres, providing visitors with a wide range of topical briefings. Following the launch of the Passive Safety Zone at the last Traffex event, in 2011 Passive Safety Europe will be holding a competition to test visitors’ knowledge in this area. This show feature will also help raise awareness of passively safe products’ impact in reducing road casualties. Experts will be on hand to give advice, making it a must-attend feature for anyone involved in road safety and traffic infrastructure. Bill Butler, Traffex and Parkex 2011 Event Director, comments: “This significant milestone of the 25th edition of Traffex is an indication of the event’s popularity. Following on from the success of the 2009 event, next year we will once again combine Parkex, Traffex and Street Design under one roof to continue to offer informative content and features, establishing the show as the UK’s leading event for transport, parking and external street design.” www.traffex.com www.parkex.co.uk
