Officials say that a set of speed cameras have cut speedng on the A15 by over 90 per cent per week.
The cameras began operating 10 weeks ago between Lincoln and Sleaford.
The average speed cameras on the busy Lincolnshire road have seen a huge reduction in the number of recorded speeding offences.
Just 130 motorists have been caught speeding since then, an average of 13 per week. The previous figure was an average of 175 offences per week who were caught by the former fixed speed cameras.
In regards to the dangerous junctions along that stretch, a spokesman for Lincolnshire Road Safety Partnership, commented: "Anybody trying to get out of those junctions is assuming, quite rightly, drivers are adhering to the national speed limit. If everybody drove at the speed limit or below it would give those drivers a fighting chance to pull out of those junctions safely."
He added: "If you are the one driving along the A15 and somebody did pull out in front of you, it gives you the chance to stop before colliding. It is all about slowing these speeds down so people can be confident they can assess the approaching vehicles speed correctly."

Great result for 'safety', but they have shot themselves in the foot as far as revenue goes then

I suppose if they prevent some costly hospital inpatient visits then it's swings and roundabouts.

Not really. They always say "It's a different budget". I say "It's all MY money, regardless of the budget" but they don't seem to understand that.

It's not 'them' who pay for it, it's 'us'. Where do you think the money comes from? A money tree?
