Article by: Darren Griffin Date: 24 Oct 2013
![pocketgpsworld.com](http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/gps-news/garmin-tactix.jpg) Garmin have announced a new rugged GPS watch, the Tactix.
Designed with a very definite military look, the Tactix includes an altimeter, barometer, 3-axis compass and GPS navigation features. Tactix also boasts a 50-hour battery in GPS mode and waterproofing to 50 metres depth.
Tactix is also pre-loaded with jump master software for skydiving. Users can plan trips, create routes and record up to 1,000 waypoints. On the move the Tactix can record bread crumb trails, navigate to coordinates and follow tracks or routes.
ANT+ and Bluetooth connectivity allows easy, wireless, connection to the desktop and, interestingly, Tactix can even be used as a remote control for Garmin's recently announced VIRB Action Cameras.
