Garmin Forerunner 405CX Announced
Garmin have added an additional 405 model to the Forerunner 405 range with the 405CX.
Bearing a very close resemblance to the existing 405, the 405CX has an increased heart-rate based calorie computation and improved comfort through the provision of two watch straps to accommodate large and small wrists.
Garmin worked with a Finnish company, Firstbeat Technologies Ltd., an industry leader in heart rate analysis, specialising in developing software solutions for heart beat signal analysis in exercise and sports, weight management, and stress monitoring applications to develop the calorie computations.
In addition to monitoring heart rate and counting calories the Forerunner 405CX tracks speed, distance, pace and location and the touch bezel on the face of the watch is used for navigating the menu options. The 405CX is IPX7 rated. Using ANT+ technology, the Forerunner 405CX sends workout data to the user’s PC or Mac via automatic wireless data transfer.
