April Fools' Day - Competition
Article by: Darren Griffin Date: 31 Mar 2011
In years past we have joined in the April Fools' tradition. Some of the spoofs we concocted were very clever, fooled many, and were well received, some were rather less inventive and fooled few and some were rumbled very early in the day.
But rather than follow the crowd and try and compete with some very inventive and complex pranks, this year we've decided to do something completely different and get you to tell us about your pranks.
Instead of our fooling you this year, we want to hear what YOU did to fool others this year. Tell us what pranks you pulled, or what spoofs you have spotted using the thread linked below and we'll award a one year subscription to the April Fools' Day prank we think is the best.
Please don't spoil the fun for others by posting before midday though! We'll run the competition over the weekend and the winner will be chosen on Monday morning.
Although they won't be considered for the competition, we's also love to hear of any April Fools' Day spoofs you have spotted in the press, magazines, or on other web-sites.
Over to you (after midday tomorrow!).

My story is kind of an "Anti April Fool"!.
Many years back after a flight on British Airways to the States I got a letter saying I had won top prize in the Inflight Duty Free Magazine Competition I had entered and I had won 2 tickets to New York on Concorde!
I went in to work the next day completely hyped about my win and telling my colleagues. I was really disappointed in their response and how they totally played down my win.
It wasn't until the afternoon it dawned on me it was April Fools day and also my friend worked for BA so they thought he had sent me headed paper to make it look real.
It took weeks to convince them I really HAD won!

I rushed into the living room and announced to my wife and daughter "there's a dead bird in the kitchen." They ran to the kitchen in horror to find a chicken in the roasting pan waiting to be cooked.

Today's the day for new car announcements - I read about an electric Rolls Royce this morning and about BMW expanding the MINI range with a booted version, a re-introduction of the Riley Elf.

Except the Rolls Royce bit is true.
