As i understand it build 44 was introduced for people having reception problems where satellite signals would suddenly dissapear & return again. As it says on the main www.navman.com website it's mainly for older receivers although it has been the best build on my receiver which is not an older one.

I think a lot of the problems regarding people being confused about the 2 builds is the fact that navman don't seem to update their UK website as frequently. It's still showing SP1 "will be released on the 5th April" on their main page.

Users are currently having to piece together information from various navman sites and correspondence with their support people to find out the current situation regarding service packs, updates, new products etc.

Release 44 was what I helped beta test with Navman. When Navman brought out SP1 it started to fail on older Navman 3000 sleeves, because the ROM version was too old (and they can't be flashed) so some legacy code had to be added to help the 3000 sleeves respond better. AFAIK thee's really no other differences from what I recall.
