Dave, i see your points, and if you have seen broken ones then say no more, but i honestly havent had a problem with it. The mount is actually held only by the wheeled screw, mine doesn't rest on the base or the dash, but solely on the pivot enabling it to be turned 360degs.
But as said Dave i can see where you are coming from here and if my mount does spit the dummy i will let you all know. |

I think TomTom have tried to stop it from happening because they've created two lugs that stick out for support, but the roads around near me and also up in Middlesex are pothole city and I can see if I hit a pot hole or two it snapping off. It's been enough to work my radiator lose 3 times, so I'd hate to see what it would do with a GO
I hope I'm wrong! |

Too right, now i can certainly see what you are saying. I think too many ruts and corrugations on the roads would certainly put untolerable stress on the pivot and if mounted to the windscreen on any sort of long arm then you are right to think that it would end in tears.
Nevertheless i still feel Brodit are taking a step in the right direction here, but i dont feel a screen mount is the go for this set up, i dont know, but can only imagine the vibration on the unit would make it hard to look at. |

Personally I always mount with the suction mount for both the PDA and the GO such that the device is resting on the dashboard. One of my cars is a TVR, and the suspension is stiff enough that normal driving is like driving over a series of potholes! Without the bottom of the unit resting on the dash, the thing is so blurry that it can't be seen... |

It's fantastic. Standard Pro clip stuff with neat solutions for attaching the original base from the suction mount.
Seems very solid and does not wobble, vibrate or anything else. If you drive a 3 series, it is THE answer. I'll post some pic's if anyone is bothered. (Not of the 3 series, nobody cares about them, but of the mount in action...obviously) |

I'd be interested to see the pics and an idea of cost would be great.
Cheers

I'm interested in seeing this as well.
Also a cost and supplier would be good.

I have received mine and we will be getting a review up in the next day or so.
I must say I am impressed with it. I have only been using it for a day and about 30 odd miles so it hasnt had a full try out yet, but we thought we would get the review up early and report on the long term findings later. _________________ Mike Barrett |

Sorry I meant EastUpper of course.
Can't see any way to edit the posts once they have been posted.

It is ready now Click here for the review.
This is based on only a short evaluation of the mount, but as everyone was clammering for info we have released it early. A long term useage report will follow in a few weeks. _________________ Mike Barrett |
