Reception in glovebox

I am new to GPS and am considering buying a BT receiver to work with my 2210 Bluetooth PDA.

Portability from car-to-car is important, as is possible outdoor use. Looking at PDAMODS website I came across a Fortuna BT receiver (the one with a screen). Looking at the description on the website is says of the receiver (which uses SIRF Star LP chip):

"This solution is so powerful that you can keep the GPS receiver in the glove compartment of your car and it will still pick up satellites."

This sounds very attractive, but is it really true? I thought GPS worked on about 1.5GHz band - can the signal be received inside the glovebox??

I use mine in the glovebox, although it's located on top of the dashboard in the centre in a Ford Galaxy. Works great in ST and XT modes - no problems at all and that's with a heated windscreen as well.

That's amazing.

My glovebox has an passanger airbag above it - anyone think it would work? I don't want to buy one and then find I have to fix it to the to of the dash (might as well buy wired).
