Strange routing with 3.0

I've only noticed since moving to 3.0. Mapsonic wants me to drive through laybys instead of staying on the main road. I've been playing with the "road speed" settings to try to get around the "Time to Destination" bug noted in another thread; no idea if this has brought the problem on.

With 1.3 I used to be directed off the road and around a roundabout to join the same road the other side of an underpass! Needless to say I took the underpass instead.
I have yet to use that route with Navigation, it will be interesting to see if anything has changed.
I have noticed this phenomena when new roads are grafted onto old ones and navigation has not quite worked out what is going on, such as the new section of the M60.
