My 940 Live had the system files and Europe map on the internal drive and North America on a SD Micro card. While updating last week it failed resulting in the green screen alternatively flashing the two drive pictures. Linking to the pc resulted in a message from tt home to say it was corrupt and tt home closed down.
I think the internal drive has failed as I have gone as far as reformatting but am unable to get a working unit. I have managed to get a working copy onto a 8gig SD Micro card which was taken from an initial windows save when first bought and updated via home.
This has now given me a working sat nav again except for live services. on the screen there is a symbol in the left-hand corner which looks like an antenna??? On the network page of status and information there is no information regarding the sim mcc/mnc, sim id, imei and model. All are blank and status is not connected.
I can not remember if they are blank until connected or should be there all the time. Have I missed something?
Any suggestions?

The info should NOT be blank on the connections screen.

Hmm... they may not help for a GO940? Too old now? Although they may help for an ongoing LIVE Services subscription.
I've certainly had the "blank info screen" before on my Go940 and it's working ok now, but I had a LONG period when it wasn't getting any reception.
IIRC, it was a Navcore update that prompted it back into life.
I am also in the same situation where the internal memory has failed and it is now running on an SD card fine (but that's on a different unit (Go720), which is not a LIVE model) _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |

Possible battery failure? When the battery starts to fail, even when connected to the car charger, it will disable the mobile data and give that crossed out antenna (umbrella on its side) icon. _________________ Drivelux |

I changed my battery this week and my mobile disappearing and the odd reboot have gone away.
A bit surprised by having to change the battery as this was a replacement under warranty from TT only about a year ago. A moment of worry on changing the battery as it didn't initially work but the first battery was DOA. _________________ Drivelux |

@MrT... Interested to know if you managed to find a battery with the 5-pin connector, or did you have to re-use the one off the dead battery? _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |

Just bought it from Amazon, a direct replacement although physically very slightly smaller. _________________ Drivelux |

Thanks.
I'm in the market for one myself, but had read a lot of forum replies in the past saying they came with three-pin connectors (like the ones for older models). _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |

I am starting to have the same failures occurring, I have watched the you tube video on replacing the battery which looks simple enough.
It did show using a tool to remove the two front side covers did this tool come supplied with the battery, if not what did you use instead.
Thanks for any kelp _________________ Malcolm

Strong thumbnails will do (and they're non-scratch too). _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |

Or some 0.5mm (or 0.6mm or 0.7mm) Dunlop Tortex guitar picks which you can get from most music shops...

That's a damn good idea!
There are so many DIY jobs where a a "British Standard thumbnail" is just perfect, e.g. for removing blobs of paint without scratching the surface underneath. But you end up wearing your nails out if you've got a lot to do. _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |
