Hi all,
I use with satisfaction a Samsung Q1 with Mapfactor Navigator 7 and I need to install speed cameras downloaded in the appropriate format from this site.

here's the problem: with navigator 7 there are two .exe files that both tranform generic files in .mef files, then import it in the main software map.

Instead, files downloaded from this site are already in .mef format.

How can I do to put them in Navigator 7? There's no guide in the site to do that and i've searched in the forum without success.

What is the correct procedure to install the files and to make navigator WARN when I approach the speed camera?

Tnx for the answers and excuse me for my bad english

greetings from Tuscany, Italy.

For 7.2 just create a import directory under PC_Navigator

i.e. C:\Program Files\Navigator7\PC_Navigator\import

Copy the speedcam0801.mca file you downloaded into it.
Thats the only file you need!

HTH

You can use MapExplorer to import and create your own .mca file.

for example you can use the .csv speedcamera database and icons from this site.

Much better I think!

Hey Mike, can you explain a little more about how you did that?

Cheers.

Yes, of course,

You need to download the database in the csv format from here
http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/modules.php?name=Cameras
I got the nice icons from the site here somewhere...

You can do the files separately but to import all the csv files in one go you need to add a fourth field ‘Type’ in the file as a type identifier.

i.e. GATSO-20 in the pocketgps_uk_gatso_20.csv file

-0.05072 * 51.45301 * GATSO:562@20 * GATSO-20

You can then use this to associate an icon with a particular speed camera type.

I do this because I cat all the files together, adding the 4th field (and removing headers etc) in a dos batchfile.

Then from mapexplorer file/import data you can choose ‘multiple icons determined by data in column’ and associate an icon with the data type.

It's not as bad as it sounds - just a bit hard to explain...

etc etc

Hope this helps
