Can anybody help me with some questions i have
I have just bought a Ford Travelpilot 170,the cd and radio work fine, the problem is the sat nav
1) I usually mange to log onto 5 or 6 satellites and then sometimes i only find 2 or 3 and my gps position can't be calculated,is this normal,i have my gps antenna located down in the left hand corner of my wind screen.
2) Does the speed pulse wire need to be connected for the sat nav to work correctly.
3) When i put in a destination it calculates the route, then when i set off on my journey, the sat nav information seems to be away ahead of where I actually am on the road, how do i rectify this |

1. That is due to the GPS aerial not having a clear view of the sky. A stronger signal is obtained when the GPS aerial is in the centre of the dash below the windscreen, although I had no problem with the signal when the aerial was in the corner of the dash.
2.The Speed pulse wire needs to be connected. The speed pulse connects to Pin No.1 next to the live feed on the back of the unit.
3. That problem will be due to the speed pulse wire not connected.
