Hi Everyone

First time post here so I'd like to say a big thanks to anyone helping me with this problem!

I have a friend who has a Mitac Mio 168 with TTN5 installed on it, it's set up correctly to use the devices built in antenna.

Everything was working fine up until a few weeks ago at which point the battery in the mio was left to run down. Now it's back fully charged he's got the following problem with it.

Up until the point that the satellites have been locked onto, the mio and ttn5 work really nice and quick - as soon as the lock has been achieved everything just grinds to a halt and it takes ages for the mio/ttn5 to register any kind of input response - this of course makes it completely useless as a gps device.

I've tried resetting the mio and reinstalling ttn5 but just get exactly the same result.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

SimonT

Assuming that the battery is now working without any problems, it does seem unlikely that it is a battery problem you have.

I note that you say you did a reset on the PPC, and I assume that it was one where you turned the power off at the back, rather than the little reset button at the side.

I also assume that you allowed sufficient time for the MIO to reset itself with the power in the OFF position - You should allow a minute according to Mitac.

It may help if you try again from scratch, even with a fresly formatted SD card.

Not being a TomTom user (but I am a MIO168 user), I can't really offer any other help
