In TTN5, I'm able to use the "call number" icon to initiate a call to a POI via bluetooth to my mobile phone. Fantastic.
It doesn't work for all POIs though.
How do I configure my own POIs so that I can call them in this way too? _________________ Geraint

Try specifying the POI description with a "greater than" symbol
"My POI>0744123456" _________________ Lutz

The ">" character is not available for POI names in TTN5.
I've set the keyboard to be small/qwerty. _________________ Geraint

Oh, I didn't think you want to do it on the device. For that just leave a space between the name and phone number and later use a POI tool (like dumpov2/makeov2 or POIConverter) to edit the entry and replace the space with the ">" _________________ Lutz

to get the standard format of the TTN5 I had to put two plus signs in my asc file before I converted it to get one plus in TTN5 phone window yet on the browse map it shops 3 pluses?
asc file would be:
-1.00000,52.00000,The Red Lion Inn>++44-1625-123456
TTN5 phone window shows
+44-1625-123456
The Red Lion
Yet the map browser when you tap my created POI's shows this
The Red Lion Inn
(+++44-1625-123456)
Am I doing something wrong by adding the two plusses initially in the asc file or is it something else?
Thanks |

Try without pluses
-1.00000,52.00000,The Red Lion Inn>44-1625-123456 _________________ Lutz

|
|
Having a device with a built in phone is very handy for using the phone call facility on POI'S, but how do I attach a phone number to POI'S that I have created myself within TOM TOM.
Lutz's solution is beyond my ability, have TOM TOM got an easy solution within the application?

No, not yet. Maybe someone will write a tool with the SDK. But for now you need a PC for the final steps. _________________ Lutz

Having tried to create my own POI's via winOV2 on my PC, following your instructions, I managed to tag on phone numbers to a list of POI's.
I surprised myself, many thanks Lutz.

You need to convert the ov2 file to a text file, with one of the several converters.
Make the changes in the text file and then convert back to a .ov2 file. _________________ Richard

Ahhh 8O basically it can be done by transfering the POI to your Pc open poi.ov2 with notepad & after the address put >07816****
So example: 20 london road ba1 (larkhall), bath>07816*****
cool |

..... after converting poi.ov2 with something like Dumpov2 or POIConverter.
A pointer - don't make the text to long, unless the first part is easily recognisable. _________________ Richard
