The User Guide for TT3 says that in Navigator mode, the bottom line of the display shows the current location. On my setup it seems to show the name of the next road to take. What settings do I need to change to show the curremt location? |

Hi Yeoman,
If you tap the screen once you will get the Navigator Menu. This displays the current location.
The Safety Screen also shows both locations. You activate the Safety Screen via the “Hide Map” option.

Thanks Robert for your helpful information. I assume from your reply that it is normal for the Navigator view to show the next road and not the current location as stated in the TT User Guide. |

If you are just driving around with no route planned, or with guidance turned off then it will show the current road. If you are currently navigating to a destination then it will show the name of the next road you need to take. |

nej describes the behaviour exactly.
Following on from Robert (Privateer)'s post, I keep my safety speed at 30mph in Navigator 3. Unlike earlier versions of Navigator, you get a 'map' of the junction ahead on the safety screen when you get near to it, unless you turn that off.
Why have the visual distraction of a scrolling map at high speed when it's really no use to you as a driver? My advanced driving training tells me to minimise clutter and distractions. The safety screen includes the next road at the top, and the current road at the bottom.
The Navigator menu displays the current position at the bottom. I think this is where the user guide confusion comes in - note menu not screen. You tap the screen once to display the menu, tap the left facing exit arrow at the bottom to quit.
The Navigator (map) screen shows just the next location when guidance is on. This seems counter-intuitive, and many people have wished for this to be configurable, but my experience is that the next location is often more use for navigating, especially in a city where GPS coverage is iffy or there's two possible turns very close together.

I use the map view too as I have found that a quick glance at the map is all that I need to get a better understanding of what is ahead.
It is, however, a matter of doing what suits you best. At least we can choose.
