Are the Netherlands lacking behind somewhere, we have a system here, and have had for years, it really is a simple thing to make sure you dont go too fast it's called a speedometer and if that fails as a back up you just take your foot off the pedal on the right, i think that is called an accelerator.
What a silly post.
A speedo is there for legality and has nothing to do with safety and, as safety should be a drivers first priority, their eyes should mostly be on the road.
Much of the time a driver has got the time to check the speedo, but if the conditions at the time require all of the drivers attention, a warning of an approaching accident blackspot will give the driver extra and usefull information, that can't be gained from simply looking at a speedo.
You idiot a speedo IS THERE for you to look at , IT is there to tell you how fast you are going.
What did YOU do before all these gadgets come into existence, i can only wonder. Keep your eyes on the road eh.
