Hi - anybody using TT3 yet and what is the feedback?
I know it didn't take long for the Pocket GPS faithful to weed out the issues with the Navman 4410 so what's the latest on the competitor?
I have seen that Total PDA have it at what seems like a good price (£160 + VAT) does anyone know of a better deal?
and finally - what about the Tom Tom in car mount (for an IPAQ 2210) any usesr out there recommend or warn against?
Many thanks

Darryl,
I am currently using the in car mount for the 1940 which I think is the same mount.
Only problem is that when first placing the PPC in the mount you have to wobble it about gently to make the contact for the power. It mentions this in the troubleshooting section as something you may have to do, whereas I always have to do it.
However once I have done this I have had no further problems and this has been on a few very long journeys.
As far as the mount staying in place I have it wired permanently into my Espace and have it mounted on the dash, the sticky pads they provided were no good but I already had some stronger ones from Halfords
No problems here either
Regards

daryl tried it last unforumatly if use the bt receaver it just crashes so ill have to play with it a bit even ethough im using the lastest tomtom updates so last night i put my old trusty pretec in and it worked flawlessly the saftey screen has improved graphics though the voice (im using the fem american one) appears to not be good as the old tt2 voice files and sound more computeried if you know what i mean the itenerary gets it first using to night as ive got a run with two drops and then back to base.
on another note the routeing bit thnigy seams to work as tt2 so no chance there but i have altered the speed setting to a truck freindly setting ie reducing the motorway sreed and other major road speeds so yeah so far so good if i can the bt going the rock and roll
more up date if ya want them _________________ currently using aponia truck navigation on windows phone. Good bye IOS don't let the door hit you on the way out .

I too am using TT3 - I cannot however tell how good it is in comparison to other software as this is my first ever system, but here goes so far with my thoughts.....
The software is excellent and works exactly as I expected it to, it is very accurate it seems to me and the re routing is very quick (it has to be as I'm a demon for "going my own way").
I must however warn you that the update for TT3 is a possible danger area - I downloaded and installed the update and TT started freezing every mile os so on a journey - after uninstalling the update and re installing TT3 all was well again - others on these forums (with different equipment and SD cards) seem to have had the same problem, so I would give the update a wide berth for the moment.
I like everything I have seen so far and am itching to go on a long run to use the system then - I would like to consider the postcode thingy that is downloadable from this site, but does anyone know if it works with TT3?
I am also using Checkpoint 3.1 for speed Cameras with TT3 and it works perfectly if that is of any use?
Ask away if you have any specifics more than this
Regards

www.ebuyer.com have BT for £136+VAT, wired for £101+VAT. As with TotalPDA, carkit/connecting cables are extra. |
