I have both MM Navigator v5.02 Professional and MM OS 2004 4.4.3 installed.
I bought some French maps - 1:1000000, 1:250000 and 1:25000, and V5 naturally came with it.
But putting in the V5 disc just recognised that Navigator was there. The only options I have now when inserting the disc is repair/ remove etc Navigator itself!
Any tips for getting V5 installed? I really want to use the new map to PDA feature to ship whereby I define the area by a bounder route in order to get ~300MB map segments on my Windows Mobile 5 pocket phone/PDA.

Hi Dave,
You could try "repair", but I think it's better to upgrade your present Navigator to v.5.1.3 via the web. Run MMv5 and select web : check for updates. I believe the French maps come with only a reduced "Discoverer" license.
Then copy the French files, .QCT (maps), .QED (Elevation data) and .MMI (placenames index), if available, to a suitable folder on your PC and within MM select: Map : Map List : Refresh Map List : Add Folder... : OK, to include the new maps.

Thanks, Alan :-)
Done that, and indeed I have the "send enclosed area to mobile" option, which was very useful in putting sensible 300-325Mb chunks onto a 2Gb microSD on my pocket PC/phone.
In doing it, MM install in its wisdom removed my 2004 OS version. Grrrrr. Am I alone in having a Love:Hate relationship with MM? Or is the Love:Hate issue really MM:OS? I oscillate between the whole situation being reasonable and barking.
I'll deal with MM 2004 OS tomorrow, once I have everything as I want it on my pocket pc; if I tried re-installing it, I wouldn't put it past MM deleting Navigator .......

You can have both 2004 and vs5 on the same PC, why the installer deletes the earlier version is beyond me as you still need it to open any 2004 maps - The upgrade/ licence issues that OS mandate are a little draconian in this day and age - Mike
